Q: What is something that has made a huge difference in your self-care routine or your wellness regimen?

A: I was a professional dancer before becoming a photographer, so exercise and eating healthy food have always been part of my life, but something that changed everything for me is meditation. I’ve been meditating for almost two years, and my approach to life completely changed because of it. I’m much calmer now and much more connected to myself and my instincts.

Q: What is something that you wish you would’ve known when you were 20?

A: To stop worrying about stupid things that won’t matter at all three months from now. Life is too short to be taken too seriously; it should be enjoyed!

Q: How do you create a sacred space at home and work? What inspires you?

A: I am currently living on the road full-time as I’m working on a personal project—Quest for Beauty, a project aimed to challenge unrealistic beauty standards—and I’m constantly moving from country to country, so it’s not easy to create a sacred space. I carry with me a tiny Ganesha statue, which symbolizes knowledge and the removal of obstacles. It’s just a little something that I put next to my bed.

Q: What is essential to creating a personal sanctuary?

A: Just your willingness to seek peace.

Q: What is some of the best advice you have ever received?

A: Be yourself, and don’t care what people think about you and don’t ever listen to anyone but your instinct.

Q: How do you stay centered in the middle of chaos?

A: I meditate and I write. Both help me stay centered even if my lifestyle is very unstable, unusual and hectic!

Q: What are your travel essentials for self-care and grounding?

A: Books, notebooks and incense.

Q: Your top three travel picks?

A: Vietnam, Indonesia and Kenya.
